Hello,
Try this 1
When the prompt appears asking you to select the OS then select Windows 7 and press the F8 key. Select the option "Safe Mode" and let us know if you are able to boot into it without any problem.
Good Luck

Hi Jack4rail
I booted into safe mode as you suggested and win 7 started to load and then the white screen reappeared. I then restarted and loaded win 8 and every thing was ok I tried the repair my computer from the win 7 install disc but after reboot the same white screen appeared. It seems as if i will have to reinstall windows 7
but I don't want to loose my data.
any way round this
thanks for your help

Hello,

Try this 1.

1) Place the Windows 7 disc in the drive and boot from it.

When "Press any key to boot from the Windows 7 installation DVD" appears,

press any key to start booting from installation disc.

Note: If you failed to boot from the installation disc then make sure first boot

device is set as CD\DVD Drive.

2) When the language preference appears, click on Next.

3) When "Install Now" appears --> Click on "Repair your computer" found at the

bottom.

4) Click on "Next" --> Select the option "Use recovery tools that can fix problems

starting Windows" and click on "Next" --> When "System Recovery Options"

appear --> Select the option "System Restore" and follow the instructions.

Good Luck.
