Toshiba laptop starts up but will not turn on?

Hello,

I have a Toshiba Satellite S855-01K.. When I press the power button (charging or otherwise) the PC will make a starting up sound but the screen remains black. I've tried taking the battery out and trying holding the power button for a minute, holding it upside down, starting it up while pressing 0 or Esc. I'm really bummed out, the laptop itself was only bought in October or so and it was a Christmas gift so I didn't even begin using it until then! I just don't want to lose everything on it, I do have a good amount of music that Id prefer not having to re download.

I dis just get it to briefly turn on by removing battery/power cord, holding the button for 30 seconds and then inserting the power cord. The Toshiba screen came up for maybe 3 seconds and then the power does again. Gahhhh so annoying!
