Hi,
Upon turning on the computer I have no icons, no start menu, and no task bar. But I can see my wallpaper. I right click on screen and hit view; the show icons is checked. I click personalize and control panel opens, so I click on change desktop icons or task bar/start menu and nothing else pops up. I've even tried to do ctrl+alt+del and nothing pops there either. Please, can someone help me. Thanks in advanced.

Hello,

Try this 1

1) When you switch ON your computer, start tapping the "F8" key to get

"Windows Advanced Options"( if boot menu appears, press "Esc" key and keep

tapping the F8 key)

2) Select the option "Last Known Good Configuration".

If the problem still exists then follow step 1 once again and this time select the

option "Safe Mode". When the desktop appears, perform "System Restore".

Good Luck

Thanks jack4rall for the suggestions. Unfortunately neither worked. The icons showed in safe mode but when i did the system restore it told me it couldn't complete it :( I'm confused as to why it happen to begin with. Before we moved it was working fine. Thanks for taking your time to reply. Have a nice day :-)
