I see a only my desktop wallpaper and nothing else.

Good morning/evening
I was working with my laptop yesterday and then I thought to keep a password in my laptop for security reasons so I kept and shutdown next day when I I started my computer (Windows 7 )it was not showing any icons menu taskbar o r anything even after I right click the mouse nothing was happening I tried many ctrl + delete + alt and like this many more but nothing was happening.
Help!!

Hi,

Try pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del simultaneously in the same order. Choose Task Manager. Next, go to File > New Task. Type explorer.exe and press Enter.

Turn off your computer and start Windows in Safe Mode (here is how).

Open the Start menu and search for "cmd". Right-click on cmd and choose Run as administrator.

Next, type sfc /scannow and press Enter. Once the verification process is completed, type chkdsk c: /f /r (your hard drive will be checked after restarting) press Enter and restart your computer.

Sir u gave answer to this topic,your answer starts with holding ctrl+shift+esc but a pop up came telling that task manager is disabled by administrator,I Even tried ctrl+alt+delete but there is no files option to go forward through one of your solution,plz help me out of this nightmare

I just got back from a plane trip where I took my laptop. When I plugged it into the larger monitor I have on my desk. The monitor works fine and has wallpaper AND icons but the laptop shows wallpaper only which means I can't use it on another trip.

HELP!

Hello,
When I try to turn on my PC no any icons display only desktop background i've click CTRL+ALT+Delete en then New task then I type explorer then I click ok but no responce up to this moment nothing have change so pls whats the problemSystem Configuration: Windows XP

Hello,

Upon start up only my wallpaper shows. There are no icons, no task bar, no start menu, nothing, just a blank screen other than my wallpaper. When I right click just to get into the desktop, I select display and even that gets no response. Can someone please help me.

Hello,

Desktop won't load icons on startup for Windows XP-Home Ed. There is no bottom toolbar icon either. I am seeing that desktop wallpaper only.

It has HDD 160 GB, memory RAM 2 GB, Hewlett Packard tower. This is my wife's computer. She said that she hit something on START UP but doesn't know what. With my knowledge, it's like the blind leading the blind. I am almost dumber than dirt when it is about computers.

Please help!
