My labtop ACER 6920 operating on VISTA will not start. It started with safe mode info on screen and I entered but then would automactically reboot after a minute. Now it won't even give me safe mode to start. All I see is the ACER start up sreen for a moment and then it goes black.

Hello,

Try this 1

First go to CMOS settings --> Load the default settings and exit from it.

Again go to CMOS settings --> Make sure that your hard drive is detected -->

Set the first boot device to hard drive --> Save the settings and exit from it.

If it failed to detect your hard drive then check your hard drive connections.

Good Luck

I can't get to anything. Only the acer
empowering people intel logo on the sreen and a menu task bar at the bottom that says press<F2> to enter setup, <f12> to enter Multiboot selection. That happens if I press the f keys repeatingly while start up. Samething if I press alt f10. I removed batteries Ram and replaced. I can hear fan and DVD drive if I place a disk in. I did not recieve a boot disk. the OS is Vista Home Premium. The laptop is the ACER ASPIRE 6920 and it was purchased on 8/08. It was in for repairs and they installed Norton Antivirus. It was acting shaky and slow before I took it in and was still shaky after. If I don't press any f keys she goes through the logo and start up task bar goes all blue on the task bar and then the screen just goes black. There is no message or cursor arrow.

thanks for trying to help

Hello,
Try this 1
Does the black screen appears after Windows logo or after intel logo ? Did you installed any drivers or updates ? Try "Safe Mode with Networking" and let me know if you are able to boot into it.
Good Luck
