Dell laptop top wont power up!

Hi my daughters dell laptop wont power up,I put the power charger in but the power light flicks on and goes off straight away and we cant get the dvd out as it has no power

Good afternoon,

Try this....

*Take out the battery,
*Remove main supply,
*Hold power button down for 30 secs,
*Put only power supply in, do not put battery in
*Turn laptop on
*Put the battery in.


Hopefully this helps, or at least a start
