Laptop sound is not working

Hello,
Few days ago i format my laptop..after this my laptops sound doesn't work when i plug in my headphone..the sound system just totally being stopped..even "Headphones & speakers" option isn't shown in control panel...the problem is solved after restarting laptop..but the problem again occurs after plugging in headphone...what should i do?? my laptop brand is Toshiba & windows 8...

Dear Mushfiq,
First of all, please install sound drivers through CD/DVD, then only you will get sound. Without drivers you won't get it.
So, after formatting, Laptop all drivers and C drive all files and folders will be deleted.
For that, again you have to install sound, VGA, Chipset and LAN drivers to work in a smoothly way.
