My hard drive (WD my passport, 1TB) is not getting detected. (Windows 7)
1. When i connect to my laptop sound comes from my laptop. (Usual sound when any external device is connected)
2. In the notification area USB symbol with green tick is seen, which means a hardware has been connected.
3. But when I launch "My Computer", Drive folder is not seen.
4. Not detecting in any PC (same problem in all PCs)
5. I have a lot of important data in my hard drive
6. In the Desk Management its says "the request couldn't be performed because of an I/O device error
"Any help and support be give me will be highly appreciated"

One of two things have gone wrong:
1. the disk drive has failed
2. The USB hard drive interface has failed
If you have the first problem then you probably can't access the data yourself and will need to pay BIG money to a data recovery service. If you have the second problem you can remove the hard drive from its case and either use a desktop computer to read the drive or buy a new USB drive enclosure and use your laptop.
Good Luck
