... to erase all doubts. I don't have sound. I tested all posible drivers in Windows 7. So I tested Windows XP to see if it was a problem of Windows 7 drivers. Sound doesn't work too. Even if it is 64 or 32 bits, doesn't work. Monitor's speakers works fine.

So... it's a problem with the Sound card of my computer right? If it is, please tell me which Sound card goes good with a motherboard ASUS P5QPL-AM. Lend me a list.

Thanks in advance,
HanSoloHan

Hi HanSoloHan,

"ASUS P5QPL-AM" has the following three expansion slots which you can use for installing a sound card:

1. 1 x PCIe x1
2. 2 x PCI

You can choose from any compatible sound cards. It is difficult to suggest as there are many to choose from. Moreover, I don't know which sound cards will be available for retail in your region (country).

Hope this helps.

I bought a new sound card and put it on the other pci and it works.
Now i have a minor problem with the front panel detection. It seems that pluggin a headphone will not auto switch from speakers to the headphones,

Thanks !

Hi HanSoloHan,

Please ensure that the cables from the front I/O panel are connected. Also, ensure that the other sound card is disabled in the System Setup (BIOS).

Thanks & Regards
