I cannot log on to windows xp pro I have tried F8 safe mode and all I see is multi(0)dis(0)rdisk(0)partion(1)\windows\system32\drivers of various types the scrolling just stop and then the list is still visable but nothing happens after that can any body help to solve this issue


my computer is a Dell Dimension 4600C running Xp Pro

In the message you have mentioned that the computer is not able to boot. Kindly explain as to what happens when you try to boot. Have you forgotten the password? If so, logging into the Safe Mode cannot help you recover the password.
