Hello,
I currently have a Dell Dimension running Windows XP pro SP3. I have three old IDE hard rives (brands vary) that were used running Windows 98 SE. I'd like to access these drives to copy some old files. I purchased an External IDE enclosure and tried to access them. The drives are recognized in Device manager, but NOT in Disk management. So I have no way of accessing the data on them. Partitioning would obviously be irrelevant. Is there any way I can rectify this situation WITHOUT buying an old computer running Win98? Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Hello,

Well you can try to install the drives on another CPU and transfer the contents on an external hard drive. This way yuo will not have pto buy any new Windows 98 pack or have to buy a new pc to allow you to get these information back. Good Luck
