I have a sony laptop purchsed in 2009 and it has been working fine until now.
I can turn on the laptop - but it will not stay on. I tried to take out the battery and run it with just the power cord but it does the same thing after a minute or two - justs turns off.
Help please

It's quite possible that the CPU is over heating. In the bios computers are set to shut down at a certain temperature to prevent damage to the CPU. The cause of it overheating is more than likely dust. I have to remove two covers off my VAIO and manually clean the dust off the cpu and fins. They can become quite caked causing over heating. This should be a routine maintenance.
