Hi, My monitor went black today and these are the symptoms. The power will not come on if the touch pad is connected, the power button will simply flash and nothing further. If I disconnect the touch pad and start it the computer will boot on an external monitor and I can then plug in the touch pad and used it with out problem. The monitor for the laptop will not come on and have tested with other Laptop monitors. The webcam works so I am not sure it the problem is with the cord or the motherboard. I am hoping for some clarity before I buy a new motherboard and maybe end up not having to.

It is an inspiron N4010

I dont know much about computers and any help will be taken with great praise :)
