Laptop has black screen

Hi First time on a form for asking questions, I was reading all your helpful tips on Laptops, my screen went black when i was using it about 7 months ago.. At that time i had put my lap top away and bought a desk top. I recently wanted to buy another lap top but i thought maybe i could fix this one..

I can access Escape then F2 buttons to get in Bios screen is fine i can see evertyhing but the main screen to load up the lap top will not come on you can see some kind of light but its just black ....

not sure what to, i have tried alot of your suggestions on here when reading but its still not working for me... Wanted to save some money and try to figure this one out for myself .. anyone else have this issue that has tips and tricks for me to try:) Thank you in advance..
