sound device is not working.It seems a cross symbol on the volume icon and clicking on it a troubleshooting is appeared.but no solution.plz help........

Hello

Try reinstalling the sound card driver.

I've installed audio driver many times.I've a graphics card also.I've installed also its drivers.but it's not working...........should I bye a sound card?

Through you device manager, uninstall the sound card software and reboot your system. Windows should detect it as new hardware. If no sound, install the latest driver from the manufacturer's website.

Sound cards, as opposed to graphic cards, very rarely fry.

P.S. What is your sound card's make and model ?
What is your operating system?
What is your computer's make and model?

I'm using windows7(64 bit).in control panel there is a msg "no sound device found".Is it a problem of motherboard?
