Dvd rom making loud noises.

hi guys.
my dvd roms wasnt reading dvds so i opened it and cleaned the lens with alcohol. but when i reconnected it to the cpu, it makes loud noises even when it has no cd. i think the thing which spins the cd has a problem, please help me if you can and no calling sony, getting a new drive etc solutions please.

just purchase a new one.
