I received a Toshiba L305 laptop for Christmas. After being sent back due to hard drive issues, I finally received it on 1-8-14. It was activated the day I got it. but yesterday(1-21) ,after restarting it to allow it to update windows,It has beemn popping up "Windows is not Genuine" messages. If I try to press activate,It says that the product key is invalid. I have used System Restore, sent it back to date 1-13,but it is still having activation issues. I do NOT have the product key sticker on the bottom of my PC. I know that a Windows PC that is not activated cannot receive windows updates, yet,I am still receiving updates. . Is This a virus? Please Help!
@techno....if the license is valid, call the number on the software and register it. I have rebuilt HUNDREDS of WINDOWS pc that said my windows wasn't genuine, I call up with a VALID license (ya know, the one on the machine) and it goes away!
Hardware will change, and your license goes away because it was an OEM license... call em up if it is valid.
I dont know. . .im only a geeky teenager, but when i got the PC,it was activated, yesterday,it started giving me "windows not genuine" messages,I have done system restore multiple ttimes, but still says not genuine.
Im almost positive that its a virus. . . So, I ran a system restore to 5 days back. After it restarted and stuff, Everything was fine,I wasn't getting "Not genuine" messages. Then, I walked up to 711 . . blah. . .blah . .. blah, Once I returned,it was in sleep mode,so I pressed the power,It resumed windows. . . Once It Came on , "WINDOWS IS NOT GENUINE" !!! HELP!!!
