I have Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed in my PC. It keeps restarting. First, around 30-minute intervals. Lately, however, the intervals between restarts has become shorter. When the computer starts again, it says that Windows has encountered a serious error. Any ideas how to resolve the problem? Should I install a new service pack?

Hello,
can you right click my computer and go to properties
go to the advanced tab and go into startup and recovery.
untick the box which stays automatically restart on system failure and press OK.
when your PC next fails it will hang on a blue screen with white writing. note down the error and reply back.
in the meantime i suggest you install Service Pack 3 for XP and all missing updates.
