Sims 3 unable to cope with downloading from website

Hi there,
I downloaded some things of another website I thought was safe, and downloaded some things for Sims 3. I do not have any other packs (Supernatural, etc) and my Sims 3 has worked perfectly right up until I downloaded new hair styles, just to change up my characters in the game.
I would really appreciate any help as to how to solve this problem.
