I have a win7+ubuntu14.04 system, now cannot boot. hard disk(IDE) is not present.disk is not damaged. HELP TO OVERCOME.

If the hard disk is not detected by the BIOS then it IS damaged or disconnected. I suggest you check the BIOS to see if the HD is detected at the hardware level.
