My Dell laptop has 2 windows 7 installed - multiboot. Yesterday I switched it on and the Dell screen started and then went as usual to the windows choice but then nothing works and I cant choose a windows and neither the Function buttons. So I restarted to try and boot from the CD but it does not read it. So pressed F2 but that also does not work and neither F12??

About the only think you can try is to remove one of the memory modules. Sometimes a bad memory module can cause these type of problems.
Otherwise, it can be a motherboard problem. If you can't start the Dell self diagnostic routines it's a sign of a failed MB. Only a good repair shop can determine if it worth the money to fix.
Good luck
