Hello,'

I have a HP 520 notebook. While installing a new wireless connection, I right click on the dsl connection and disabled it for a while. On enabling it back, it won't work.

On clicking the lan icon I got the message"The connection has limited or no connectivity. You might not be able to access internet or some network resources. For more information click the link below."

In the lan properties I found:
General status: limited or no connectivity

You might not be able to access the internet or some network resources. This problem occurred because the network did not assign a network address to the computer.

Options a button to details
Clicking it gives details such as Physical address, IP address, Subnet Mask

To restart to connection and try to establish full connectivity, click repair.

Option a button to repair

On clicking repair button the following message came
Windows is taking the following action
Renewing your IP address
But then another windows shows windows could not finish repairing the problem because the following action cannot be completed.
Renewing your IP address
For assistance, contact the person who manages your network.

I finally, put the ip addresses manually providing the ip address, subnet mask, default gateway, prefered and alternate dns server ip's. Now, I can see the dsl working. The ip packets are being sent and received but still when I open my IE. The message comes showing that the page cannot be displayed. Please guide me what to do?

Thanking you

First check that your nic has lights when cat5 is in. No light maybe bad connection. if lights then make sure your router/modem has a signal by ensuring light are on. If good, open browser and clear cache

Hi, it is not working because you have provided wrong address for the DNS server.
Check with your Internet Service Provider.

You are getting the IP error because the DHCP server on the router is not working properly.

Turn it off and ON again.
