How do you fix a short circuited hard disk

Hello,

umm.. will you guys help me...my hard disk has been damage (short circuited) I do not know the reason why..
well if there any CHANCE that I could recover my files then would you guys please lend me some ideas..im losing hope..

A data recovery company can remove the hard disk platter and put it into a identical hard drive case and recover your data. Cost $1000 US and up.

Some people have replaced just the logic board (the external circuit board on the hard drive) with an identical unit and recovered the data. This usually requires you find the identical drive on ebay or a used PC shop.
