Hello, my display is blank on startup. I have an HP Pavillion dv9000. upon startup i get 1long beep folowed by 2 short beeps. seems to indicate a video controller board in the code book, but not sure on a laptop.

indeed, this indicates that a video error has occurred and the BIOS cannot initialize the video screen to display any additional information.
try to update the video driver or get the graphics card replaced.
