Need help finding the answer

My xBox is having issues. You can be playing a game or watching a DVD and all of a sudden it goes to the home screen, and says its opening the tray. This happens with out any pattern or time period. I would like to know if it is the reader or memory or wht. have tried to clear the cache but that does not help.
