Hard disk

Hello,
my 2tb lacie is giving me problems due to the several times power failure, I need to transfer the video files from the disk to a new disk, please tell me which disks are the best and how do I transfer from one disk to a another? some of the files too big like 12 gig, I am using a apple pro laptop, any suggestion greatly appreciate , thank you ,Sony

Sounds like you'd like to transfer to a USB external HDD. The internal HDD might actually be diffrent than the manufacturer of the outside casing so a namebrand with a good warranty would be your best bet like Sony, Dell, Maxtor, Western digital something like that. It should have instructions for tranfering files. You should be able to drag and drop the files through "My Computer". Hope this helps.
