So I did EVERYTHING to try to make this white screen go away. I held down the home button and the power button when this happened and it worked the first time but the next day, the white screen was there AGAIN. Now it's been like this for almost a week and I don't know what to do. I even tried holding the volume up button, the home button and the power button but I still see the white screen. Nothing is working. I need help, ASAP!

Have you tried restoring the default settings using itunes? It will wipe everything on your ipod but you can reload everything back onto it.

Did you do a "hard restart" - sometimes this fixes things:
You can do a hard restart of your iPhone or iPod Touch. To do so, just hold the lock button (that is the button at the top of your device) and the home button at the same time until you see the Apple logo on a black background (you usually have to hold the buttons for around 10 seconds before this happens). You can then release the buttons and your iPhone/iPod Touch will restart.

Ambucias, try holding the power/lock button and the home button at the same time for 10 seconds. that is basically a reset feature that turns it off and powers it back on. If that doesnt work, go to apple.com/support and call apple.
