hello,
i was watching movie and afteri was done, i shut down my laptop. nothing unusual... but then when i switched it on after two hours, everything was normal, i typed my password, but my desktop is blank... nothing appears... i don't know much about laptops, but i tried task manager and opened my computer... it shows all the folders(with all files), but when i open a folder, it's empty... all the files are there... but i can't view them... n d home screen is completely black, only the cursor appears... i don't know much about laptops and formatting and all... so someone please intruct me in a simple way... i'll be very grateful...

I suspect you picked-up a virus when you download that movie. I suggest you seek local help. Since your going to need "hands on" access to identify and remove the virus.

i did not download the movie... i was watching the movie in dvd... i don't know what happened.. Thanks for the help though xpcman...
