My WD External Hard Drive is not detected

Hi,

When I plugged my external HD into the desktop, the computer cannot detect it and there was a beeping sound a few seconds after plugging it in, I really don't know what seems to be the problem, and I don't want to loose my files and I'm kinda scared about it right now, so please do share with me some solutions on this.

I suggest you try a second computer. If you have the same problem then I'm 99% sure you have a failed hard disk.

You can open the case an replace the existing hard drive with a new one.
