Windows xp home edition cd

Hello,i need help with windows xp home edition i tryed to do recovery ,now my laptop won't start the message i get is ( no operating system) can somebody please help? thanks hassan
ps i called toshiba they said take it to service center

hi,
if you are getting this, you need to reinstall your Operating system.
set your computer to boot from CD drive first, put the CD in the drive and reboot your computer.

thanks livebox12,the problem is that the laptop didn't come with xp cd i have a key # but i need the actual cd ,i called toshiba they said to take it to a service center the message i get on my laptop no operating system so i think i have to reinstall windows xp,thanks again for your help hassan
