Hello,

i have a western digital 1 tb external hard drive and i m unable to copy files from my hard drive to my pc. I used western digital lifeguard diagnostics to identify the error and got the error "06-Quick Test on drive 2 did not complete! Status code = 07 (Failed read test element), Failure Checkpoint = 97 (Unknown Test) SMART self-test did not complete on drive 2!". please help me to make this drive fully functional again.

Sorry you will NEVER get this drive "fully functional".

Perhaps some file recovery software might help recover some data.

Good Luck

Hi, ankit

The errors you are getting basically say that the test can not complete, because the information is unreadable. This may be due to some media errors. I would suggest you to check connections. Change USB cable and try again. If the situation does not change, that means that the drive may be failing. If you still have some warranty left, you could get a replacement.

Hope this helps
