Please understand we are volunteers that answer these questions on our free time. Please give us as much detail about your problem as you can.
Your question is rather vague, and frankly cannot be answered within the scope of this forum as it is a general computing issue, and we do not have the time to educate all users on the making of the different technical parts of an Operating System.
Either the question is lost in translation and makes no sense, or you are asking a question that can be answered by doin a little more research on Comuting in general.
The easy answer is it really depends on what your O/S is, as some computers have NO DESKTOP. Do you see how hard it is to answer this question without the details of your specific machine.
