Hello bujji,
Can you the hard drive or fan spinning? If you are able to detect that the latptop has been turned on but there's no signal on the screen, the problem you have might be found in the video chip. Sometimes, after much of a use and little cooling the North Bridge unsolders itself and the "paste" is being removed, therefore you can't turn on the laptop. If you are good with notebooks' hardware you can open the laptop and see if the chip that is next to the processor is unsoldered or you can have to go to a technician to get it soldered again.
