Hello kamesh,
Have you checked the USB cable if it's ok? Sometimes cables can be damaged by much of a use.
Try reassigning a drive letter to your WD My Passport device. Go to Control Panel>Disk management and make right-click on this disk. Do not format your drive, just Change drive letter.
It's better that the drive letter is bigger than M.
