Hey there ela. I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your drive. First before we go any further, you should backup any important data you may have on that drive if you can access it, just in case.
In order to figure out how to tackle this issue, you'll have to give me a bit more info. Did you receive the HDD like this, or you've used the drive and this happened suddenly? Do you have any data which you can't backup on that drive? Have you checked what it says about the drive in Disk Management (here's how to do that: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=wQtLJo)? Would you please post a screenshot of what you can see in Disk Management about the drive and its partition (you can use imgur.com to upload the image)?
If you don't want to recover any data, or you have nothing to recover, or you've already backed up everything, then I'd recommend that you download DLG (Data Lifeguard Diagnostic) and test the drive with it, so that you can see if it has any errors or bad sectors. You can download it from here: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=jcVb43
And here's how to use it: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=6FxvJo
Let me know how everything goes.
