Hello,
Kioskea.net community i need help with a computer i'm fixing. I reformatted it because when i first started it up it said "this disk may have a virus", and every time i let it go to desktop it would load up and then freeze while the screen was doing something weird. So i got a windows xp service pack 2 disk and reformatted. But when i was going to install windows again it stops. So i got a windows 98 boot diskette and erased the partition and tried reformatting it again and now when i go to install windows it still freezes someone please help me pleaseeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1st of all a virus get initiated when windows starts so you have to install windows before windows starts virus exe file which will be added to your startup location in registry during infection,just take a win xp bootable cd and install,format your windows installation drive,before that check if a file named autorun.inf is copied to each of your drive if it is there delete them make sure they dont show up again,else after installation of windows do not click on drives if autorun.inf is there after installation instead go to start->run->type cmd press enter
type del drivename:\autorun.inf they will not show up if windows is freshly installed and u should not click any of the drive after deleting reboot and use

the thing is that it won't run long enough without freezing

you have to install during bootup,make your cd/dvd rom 1st bootable device in bios ,insert win xp cd restart system follow instructions thats it,and keep track of instruction stated in last post to avoid infection again

Hello,

Following the advise in https://ccm.net/computing/windows/1469-show-hidden-files-on-windows/, I was not able to wipe the attributes of my files. Access was denied.

Is there anything else I can do to regain control of my files. I have a DVD recorder that records in .MP4, but I can only access (see) the files from the recorder. My computer shows the files (when I connect the HDD to the PC) but I cannot run any of them, nor can I copy or move them onto my computer.

I would like to clear the HDD of files and place them on my PC and watch them from there, but so far I have not been successful.

I type "attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:\*.*" in the command prompt just like in your other discussion to recover files that are hidden by recycler virus but the "access denies" takes for ever to load that it took me an hour to finally just close it and not 5 min in your other discussion.
The device is a external storage of seagate with 1T and partiton in 4.
I only recover 1 partiton the other 3 takes forever to load when I type the command and the "access denies takes 7-8 lines" not 4-5 lines as what you said in other discussion.

Is There another way to recover the files?

My 16gb Samsung memory card is infected with UUUUUU.uuu ! When ever I copy some stuff to my card after that files got courrept and named as UUUUUUU.uuu files so please provide me the solution?
