Thank you sir, but I have NO w8.1 DVD. This was a preloaded Lenovo system and the only CD's I have are the ones that they sent with the system (6 CD's). My 2nd question is this that nobody seems to see in my comments or will answer, Will the 15.2 version of this CD work on any of the following Vista/W7/W8.1 OS's or are there different versions of the 15.2 CD that I could not find. Is there not a program out on the web or in the 15.2 CD that I can boot from and and execute w/o needing a real Windows logo'ed DVD. There used to be a command that was good on XP that went something like this. Fdisk /mbr.

Lenovo replaced the mother board, CPU chip, the fan and a radiator that the fan blew thru that had some plumbing running to the CPU chip for cooling. That basically resolved nothing.
I found Hiren's boot cd after watching several youtube videos, so I downloaded it and created a CD. Basically all day yesterday this message continued to plague us, so last night I inserted the 15,2 version of the Hiren CD and basically did nothing because I was unaware of what it would do. So after scrolling to the bottom of the list on the CD. I selected to do a reboot and the system booted, and hasn't failed since.
So my 1st question is this,
did the boot record get repaired by just inserting the CD or am I still going to continue receiving this message.

And as far as replying to your answer, being new to this forum, I could not find your answer
