I've got a seagate hard drive that still lights up and i can hear it running but it won't show up in my computer. I've uninstalled it and usb normally works fine.
I've plugged it into the dvd player and it won't show up.
Still shows up in device manager.
It got dropped. Only a 30 cm fall but since then not working anymore.
Please help.

Hi Theresa,
Sadly, hard drives are very fragile devices and could be damaged even from a 30 cm fall. How does the drive appear in Device Manager? Does it appear correctly in Disk Management? I recommend you to try it with another USB cable and on another PC. Search for the drive manufacturer's diagnostic tool from the manufacturer's web site. Check if the tool will recognize the drive. Have you tried uninstalling the device from Device Manager, restarting the PC and reconnecting the drive? Are there any noises coming from the drive?
Hope this helps
