Hi Sujats,
Could you check if the drive is visible in Disk Management? Does it have a drive letter and a proper format? If it does not have a letter, try to assign one with the right mouse button.
Search for the device in Device Manager, under USB storage. If it is listed there, uninstall it and restart the laptop. Reconnect the external and let the OS install the drivers.
If there is no change, try the device with another USB cable and on another PC.
