Safe mode and will it cause my key board not to work

Hello stacie,
1) Whether your keyboard work well in Normal mode?..
2) If this is a USB keyboard, What about changing the USB port?
3) Did you have drivers for your keyboard?... ( Did you see any yellow exclamation mark near keyboard or USB in device manager?)
4) Also scan your computer with Malwarebytes
