USB mass storage device, doesn't show up on My Computer. Tried uninstalling device driver and restarting computer, but didn't work. Whenever I plug it in, it only shows up as "Removable Disk (F:)", but whenever I press it, a popup asks me to "please insert a disk into (F:)". This button doesn't show up when the drive is unplugged, though. The light on the drive is turned on. It worked last time. I use win7 if it helps.

Hello defaultsettings,

Have you tried connecting the device on another computer? What type of file system did you set on your USB drive?
Please, try when formatting it to give a different driver letter than the F. It might have conflict with your CD ROM. Make it bigger than M, for example. You can do that by going to Disk Management and assign a drive letter.

Hope this helps.

After plugging in the device, go to device manager (In run type "devmgmt.msc") In Device manager go to "Universal serial bus controllers" It should list the storage devices that you have connected to your PC. Right click and then click "Uninstall. Remove the USB drive and restart your system.
Try connecting the device again
