Laptop auto shuts off after about 2 seconds.

Hi , I want to know cause this problem.

You press the laptop power button, laptop lights goes on. laptop fan starts spinning .
Then after about 2 seconds both the lights and the fan shuts completely off.
I have seen that problem on a number a laptops , my friend told me i need to flash the bios. I checked on capacitors, and diode etc they seem to be fine.

Please help i just started computer repair shop i'm still learning.

You can't flash the BIOS if the PC will not boot.

This type of problem is often the result of a motherboard failure.

So i guess the solution is to change the motherboard

Possibly, but first check that the charger is working - either try the charger in another PC of the same type or try another charger (designed for the PC, and that you know works) on the laptop. Also try it without the battery installed and the charger plugged in. Sometimes a bad battery can cause this - even though it might be plugged into a wall socket.
