Hello to all of you guys,
I have laptop toshiba s300. The problem is recent maybe 1 week, the screen is turning black after few minutes of work.it turns black suddenly but the programs are still runnimg. Before that it is flickering. This flickering is maybe since 3 months. I know this is not brand new laptop but it is not within my budget possibilities this time and I need laptop until I have possibility to buy new one. I tried the trick of keeping pressed start button for 1 minute after having battery removed and power cable unplugged but it didnt work for me. If you need more details I will give it right away.

Hello you too albi,

I think the problem with your laptop is related to the video chip known as North Bridge which is responsible for sending the video signal to the display and/or external monitors. If you have any knowledge of laptops you could open you laptop, check if the thermic paste is on its place and verify that the chip hasn't been desoldered.
The other component which may have failures is the LCD inverter which has to be replaced, that's why I would suggest you to bring your laptop to a technician in order to make the necessary tests.

Hope this helps.
