First I suggest you test the external drive on another computer.

Hey there, fahad.
When you say that it's not detected in your PC, do you mean just Windows Explorer (Computer)? Have you checked if it's recognized in Disk Management, Device Manager or BIOS? Have you had any issues with it before? Do you need to recover data from it?
You could go ahead and try the drive with a different computer as @xpcman suggested. If that doesn't work out, you could try downloading the HDD manufacturer's diagnostic tool and test the drive, to see if any errors or bad sectors pop-up.
However, if you want to recover data, I'd suggest that you try accessing it via Linux Live CD/USB, to see if it's properly recognized and if you can get to your files, or try with data recovery software.
