Files corrupted

Hello,
I have a problem with my anstalled antivirus (AVG 8.0) it is stop functioning so that I remove it and try to install another one But I got a message (file corrupted) another issue many applications that I want to install on my PC have been corrupted too, any help will be appreciated.

Remove Avast completely..through the add/remove programs option, then download a fresh copy of Avast from :www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html - ,and try to install it again
