Network configuration

Hello,
My ps3 doesn't allow me to connect to WiFi. On the settings when I select the setting method I press Easy then it loads for ever saying "checking network configuration... Please wait" nothing happens after.

Check it out. If you r constantly getting connection interruptions during game-play then here is what u need to do. If u r using a router (no matter the brand), the problem probably has to do with the router. In order to find out, disconnect your PS from the router and plug it directly into you modem. If your modem is not near your playstation then move it close to the ps3. The modem plugs directly into your cable line so there is a good chance that the television you play your PS3 on has a cable connection. I am having trouble connecting my ps3 to my wireless internet, I have checked and restarted my router multiple times and strangely enough my laptop can connect to my wireless internet very easily.

Please can someone help me figure out whats wrong with my ps3 and help me fix it.

I am needing some advice I have been trying to connect my playstation2 to my laptop via the networking
plugs the 8 wire ones I gather is ethernet but im not sure, now I want the ps2 to connect to my mobile broadband.
so when I open network connections after connecting ps2 it shows four connections two in dial up one being vodafone mobile which is what I use for the net and is 3g and a disconnected 3g one by the same company, now in the LAN or high speed internet section there are two other connects, one is a wireless network connection obviously WiFi but the other is the playstation I guess and it is named Local area connection under that it says
