I dropped my laptop, it broke the lcd screen. Hooked it up to my tv to make sure it was ok (aside from screen) and it perfectly functioned.
Replaced my LCD screen this morning myself. All Is working well except my keyboard. Some keys don't work and sometimes it puts in the wrong key all together (eg 7 instead of y). I powered it down for about an hour and that didn't seem to help

Is it possible to test with an external USB keyboard? A successful test would point to the internal keyboard being the problem.
