I am trying to wipe my computer back to the factory settings. I have followed the step but when I come to the system restore and select 'yes, reformat hard drive and restore software to factory condition' I get a message that says Parameter is incorrect. How do I get by this to reset my computer?

Did you use Original Factory Installation with Dell DataSafe Local Backup 2.0 and still having issue with this?
Then The Recovery partition might be damaged or missing. Your only option is to reinstall from disk.
How to manually reinstall Windows 7 on a Dell computer?
Note: I don't know which OS you asking for as you didn't mention it.
