No boot device detected

I have a Dell desktop with Dimension C251. Just changed the battery and followed steps to get rid do diskette drive 0 seek failure message. Still have no boot device detected message- how do I get rid of this so my computer will run?

This message is often caused by a faulty hard drive.

Well, couldn't be prouder of myself because I fixed it. I followed directions and went into F2 under drives and changes so the hard drive was #1 which it wasn't and then restarted. It worked and my favorite old computer is chugging right along.
