                    These symptoms indicate a hardware problem.  It could be as simple as a bad memory module or a complicated as a failed motherboard.  I suggest you try removing one of the memory modules (if you have two) and try to start the laptop.  The next step would be to have a local PC Tech do a diagnosis.
